Blue Ridge Country Club closing, land to be redeveloped

by CBS21 WEB STAFF | Thursday, February 2nd 2017

HARRISBURG, Pa — The Blue Ridge Golf Course on Linglestown Road is scheduled to close at the end of this year's golf season, around November.

Officials say that golf spending has been going down over the last decade and that the course has been losing money year after year.

Charles Courtney, the development land use attorney, says that the land will be redeveloped.

The redevelopment plans include homes, assisted living memory care facility, small to medium scale commercial uses, professional office space and the possible reuse of the clubhouse for a restaurant.

The plan is still in the early stages. The Lower Paxton Township was presented with a land use application for the 2018 season, but was not presented with a land development plan.

There will be a planning commission review meeting on the first Wednesday of March and after that meeting there will be a public hearing but no date has been set.
