Orchard Glen a mixed use community located in Upper Allen Township, Cumberland County, Pa. RJF&A designed this community in 2010 and it is now in it's final stages of build out. Challenges on this project started with getting gravity sewer to the site. The southern side of the site next to the park needed about 6' of fill to avoid a pumping station but this was balanced with the grading that was required at the north side of the site to make buildable lots. Considering the overall site grading and balancing this site during design can save considerable overall construction cost for the overall project.
